silent sign

 silent sign

drawn by a hope I cannot disguise

i wandered along your street,

the sun scorching both skin and will,

yet, i dragged my steps in sweltering heat.

you dont know I linger still,

but what if knowing breaks your will?

will you come down and meet me halfway,

or at least draw back your curtains,

so i can watch you from afar?

now, loving you feels like,

standing and waiting outside the house

with all the doors locked,

but with a hope that the window’s ajar.

and, even though your windows stayed shut,

and your curtains remained still,

tomorrow i’ll walk the same road,

like clockwork at nine,

even if you choose to turn away,

grant me a sign,

that you know I stayed.
