first kiss
first kiss
waiting on the terrace,
having you parents' voice
slowly blur into the wind,
i make my way down the stairs,
like smoke without fire,
heart filled with anticipation,
i could hardly bear.
i walk into your room,
sunlight pouring through your window,
sit at the edge of your bed,
unaware of the storm on the way.
had to get up reluctantly,
when we embraced in a warm hug,
broke off,
when the sunlight fell
oh so divinely upon your eyes,
i closed the distance,
and it felt nothing less than a spell.
you shy away,
so i hold you from behind,
kissing you softly,
while i tell you it's fine.
walking home,
the memory clings to my skin,
the warmth of your lips,
and the shy smile held within.
